Do’s
Complete any required forms prior to arriving via text/email link sent at time of booking.
Plan to arrive 10 early to check in to discuss health concerns with your therapist.
Shower or freshen up. Clean skin helps you feel comfortable and makes the session more pleasant.
Communicate health information. Tell the therapist about recent injuries, surgeries, chronic conditions, medications, allergies, pregnancy, or areas of pain and sensitivity.
Speak up about pressure and comfort. Let us know if the pressure is too light, too deep, or if you need adjustments to table temperature, room temperature, or music volume.
Drink water after the massage. Hydration helps flush out metabolic waste released from soft tissues.
Wear comfortable clothing to and from the appointment. Loose clothing makes dressing after the session easier and extends the relaxed feeling.
Ask about contraindications. If you have a fever, uncontrolled high blood pressure, deep vein thrombosis, contagious skin conditions, or an acute injury, check with a medical professional and your therapist before booking.
Plan light activity after the massage. Give your body time to integrate the work—walk lightly, avoid heavy exercise for a few hours if you feel tender.
Don’ts
Don’t arrive under the influence. Avoid alcohol or recreational drugs before a massage; they can impair judgment and interfere with the body’s response to treatment.
Don’t eat a large meal immediately before. A heavy meal can make you uncomfortable lying face down. A light snack is fine.

How often you should get a massage depends on your goals, budget, and health status. Here are general guidelines to help you decide:
Relaxation and stress relief
Frequency: every 2–4 weeks
Why: Regular monthly or biweekly sessions help maintain lower stress levels, reduce muscle tension, and support better sleep.
Management of chronic pain or injury
Frequency: 1–2 times per week initially, then taper to every 2–4 weeks
Why: More frequent sessions at the start help reduce inflammation, improve mobility, and break pain cycles. As symptoms improve, spacing sessions out maintains progress.
Athletic performance and recovery
Frequency: weekly to biweekly during training seasons; after intense events, 24–72 hours post-exertion
Why: Regular sessions help with muscle recovery, flexibility, and injury prevention. Timing around workouts can enhance performance and speed recovery.
Postural or repetitive-strain issues (office workers, caregivers)
Frequency: every 1–3 weeks initially, then monthly maintenance
Why: Frequent work on problem areas corrects imbalances; maintenance sessions prevent recurrence.
Occasional self-care
Frequency: every 4–8 weeks or as needed
Why: For people without chronic issues who want periodic relaxation or pampering.
Factors to consider
Budget and time: Cost and schedule will shape a realistic plan. Even less frequent sessions are beneficial.
Medical conditions: Consult your physician if you have clotting disorders, infections, fractures, cancer, or certain cardiovascular conditions. Bring relevant medical history to your therapist.
Type of massage: Deep tissue, sports, prenatal, and therapeutic massages may recommend different frequencies than relaxation or Swedish massage.
If you’d like, we can recommend a personalized schedule based on your goals, activity level, and any health considerations.
